"I thought it was a sakura, but it was rice..."

Guess who had a Hanami pic-nic today :D ?
Since you can't tell, your Dae & [livejournal.com profile] aflyingteapot∼!

These are Teap friends :D Now that I posted their pics on the internet they are no longer mine XD
They will be conveniently nicknamed "Tachi" and "Neko" XD Tachi is tiny, but very manly D: She told me that she played mahjong when she was a kid! *is impressed*

Here Teap was explaining us the rules for baseball with leaves and sticks, LOL

Dae: --And what is a "Squeeze Play", "Stealing a base" and the way Tajima says "Reach, reach" :D ?!
Teap: I don't know D':
Dae: D':

KARASU!!!
Oooh, it looked so cool, it really felt like we were in Tokyo--

--But it wasn't a crow! It's a carrion crow D:

These guys were playing some very weird and very VIOLENT watersport D:

This was our food! The most of it was made by our cute hands! It includes my fail!supplì and some mini-pizzas that I bought to make up for my failurea at cooking XD
Teap, Tachi and Neko made so much stuff ;o;

Then, you know about a petal of sakura floating in your glass being a sign of good luck?
I WANTED ONE, so I posed there under "our" tree to get some-- THEY JUST KEPT FLOATING ALL AROUND ME, BUT NONE GOT IN THE GLASS D': STUPID PETALS--!

Then when I gave up FINALLY I GOT ONE! YATTA!!

--AND ANOTHER ENTERED MY BEER! Incredible, LOL XD

Sweet potato! I never tasted one! It tasted like chestnuts :O !

This was a Chocolate mousse by Lindt. S-SO GOOD ;o; !!

MOCHI!

And now some pictures of the cherry trees :D :

It was such a fun day ;o; Did anyone on my flist enjoy their hanami too this year :D ?

PS: A note on the title: this was said by Neko, commenting the stuff in her hair XD Pic-nics are fun, but sure they are also uncomfortable, ne D': ? I had rice plastered all over me >_>; !
PPS: Teap, I can't find anything about the "Yamete Butterfly" D': !!!

We have SNOW. (=__=) BUT I'm looking forward to see the sakura trees we have in Helsinki. Last year I went to see them when there was some sort of a Japanese happening in that park (that was in MAY, dammit), but the blossoming had already ended so there wasn't much to see (except Japanese people who live here). Too bad. So this year I'm definitely going earlier, probably by myself 'cause no one else is interested anyway.

But great pictures and looks like fun! (^O^)/

Awww ^_^;;

Oh, well, since you live in a cold country, it's obvious that your cherries will bloom later (but, actually I'm surprised to hear that they bloom at all, LOL XD) :D
We're lucky, 'cause there's a hanami group on Facebook that monitors the status of the sakura in EUR's park (they were a donation from the city of Tokyo), so we knew when they bloomed and when the blooming was at its climax. Unfortunately the top flowering was around the end of March, but we got to see nice flowers too ^_^
