Take me down to Dae's City, where the pretty girls have horrible lives and the pretty boys are gay∼

So, today I managed to finish some animes on my to-watch list :3
Here are my EXTREMELY BIASED reviews, with art commentaries included!
Also, spoilers EVERYWHERE. Don't expect me to cut them graciously 'cause I wanna rant XD

KURAGEHIME
Kyaaaah, I loved this so very VERY MUCH ;_; !!!
The story, setting and characters were so very original and fun to see interact XD I must confess you that sometimes I felt kinda frustrated, expecially during the Shu/Whore parts (that horrible slut!), but all in all is was way too enjoyable despite being a shojo-based series *_*
The anime performs an open end (looks like the producers want us to buy the manga-- LOL, don't worry guys, I will, as the Italian serialization will catch up with the anime *_*)... Then, what else.
Oh, Kura/Tsukimi kinda annos me XD I meabn, I still find it enjoyable, 'cause they are both cute in their own ways, b-but I find it so OBVIOUS. I mean, it's the male lead and the female lead characters--! LET'S PAIR THEM UP! This is something that I never got to stand, that whole "a fated meeting" shit that always happens. I just can't stand it Dx
Also, let me express another time my utter disgust for Shu/Whore. Stupid whores should just suffer for ever with no chance of salvation and hopefully die alone in a ditch, not get the pretty megane boys for themselves :/
Thank god both pairings don't happen in Kuragehime, so I can give this series a full 8 with no half-hearted feelings, ohohoh ♥

BACCANO!
Suggested by Forchy I finally managed to watch this whole, series and specials included :3
I must say that the story, characters and set is DEFINITELY better than Durarara!'s... I can't understand why this anime didn't get as popular as Durarara! in Japanland :/
I was extremely glad with the plot!! The whole Firo's "upgrade" was just an awesome way to fix things up within the Immortals circle-- Also Czes-kun is THE CUTEST THING EVER ;__; Awwww, when he met with Maiza ♥ and his role as Ennis' little brother ♥hearts;!!! AND OMG, when Miria and Isaac (I'll be boring and say that THESE TWO ARE OVER THE CONCEPT OF AWESOME, OMG GAWD ;___; !!!) saved him T____T I confess you that I cried a bit!!!! (a lot, actually XD)
My favourite character is obviously Ladd XD But I also like Maiza and, well, Luck ♥♥ As for the girls, my favourite is probably Nice :3 I like her past, how she reacted to it, and she and Jacuzzi are so cute together ;3; ...
...Sure, let's rant about random heterosexuality. Looks like this guy has this terrible habit of PAIRING EVERYONE TOGETHER, as if nobody can't be left happily by themselves :/ At least, contrary to Durarara!, were abominable heights were reached, Baccano! still keeps it classy and interesting (most of the pairings were enstablished already), the only pointless pairing of the whole series being Claire/Chane. Just-- WHY? It's just too stupid! I hope that Ladd will kill 'em both :/ Also Firo/Ennis was kinda pointless, but at least it's cute to watch XD Also, Lua was a pretty useless character and she's obviously unworthy of Ladd, but that's it :/
I was disturbed by the lack of yaoi for this series.
So here's some Ladd/Claire and Ladd/Graham random sketchin' XD Hopefully I'll turn these into proper artworks someday ^_^;
Ohohoh, isn't Graham perfect as Ladd's cute little kitty x'DDD ?

SHIKI
OH GOD, WHAT I FEARED THE MOST HAPPENED.
Stupid Sunako survived and she also managed to run away with the idiotic uke monk :/ I hope that Toshio manages to find both of them and KILL THEM.
--You can't believe how many "Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you!" I chanted during those last scenes XD
All in all it was an interesting series :D I liked how they decided to deal with a vampire story and I was amused by the setting.
Sure, that whole "LOL, the true monsters are the human beings ;o;" shit suggested in the last episodes was totally uncalled for, but it was also interpreted in a charming way *_*
Natsuno WINS over everyone. Too bad that he didn't meet with cute Tohru at all after turning into a jinrou ;___; Also, Ritsu-chan! FUCKING AWESOME! I admired her choice, she's truly amazing ;___;
I was extremely happy to see idiotic Megumi die. Poor Masao was indeed pathetic XD The poor boy! He was destined to a shitty existence x'DDD
Now I'm waiting eagerly for the new manga chapters! I wonder if the manga's story will proceed the same way as the anime, 'cause I feel that here and there the anime was a bit forced :/

SHINREI TANTEI YAKUMO
Ahah, this series was useless.
The only nice thing was Gotou, cute Nao-chan *wants to squeeeze her ;_;*, awesome Isshin and the Gotou/Ishii subtexts at the beginning of the series XD
The female lead was terrible, almost as horrible as Wako from Star Driver. The male protagonist was ok, though. Yakumo is kinda cute, the cat-person XD

Ok, I'm off to eat now :D
Itadakimasu∼

[EDIT]
Also, let me rant a bit about Katekyo Hitman Reborn-- So, [livejournal.com profile] lpscanlations made a poll to ask the members which doujinshi they should release first-- The list counted Katekyo, Shiki, Durarara! and Haruhi booklets-- I voted for Shiki as if there was no tomorrow, but stupid Katekyo won D': (Well, this was expected, LOL XD)
LOL, the only fun thing about this series is that a lots of doujinshi now have Italian titles x'D It's amusing to look at∼

Looks like I'm adding Kurogahime to the anime list since EVERYBODY KEEPS TALKING ABOUT IT. @_@

Claire/Chane happened out of NOWHERE. I find it just 'blah'. :/ Awww, but I like Chane, though. She's like my favorite female. I keep bouncing back and forth whether or not I should buy the box set with all the special features, I keep taking it, then putting it back on the shelf. Oi, I'm so lame. c___c

[identity profile] tomoe-daeva.livejournal.com 2011-01-01 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Watch it, watch it, it's lovely ;___; !!!
The female cast is kinda ugly, so you probably couldn't get any yuri satisfaction XD But it's indeed a refreshing, fun watch ;3;

Oh, I kinda like Chane too, I like the devoted silent types, but at the same time I'm also sick of them XD
herongale: (miria- more yay!)

[personal profile] herongale 2011-01-01 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Baccano! I've been saying that it's better than Durarara forever. ♥

[identity profile] tomoe-daeva.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 11:13 am (UTC)(link)
It's very good!
I think that DRRR! makes a bigger imact 'cause it's set in a familiar Japanese setting-- And because of Shizaya, ahahah x'D

[identity profile] ceasefire.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
LOL, the only fun thing about this series is that a lots of doujinshi now have Italian titles x'D It's amusing to look at

That's coz it's a terrible story about the Mafia. Even though all the mains except like... two are Japanese. Or have Japanese names despite being Italian.

[identity profile] tomoe-daeva.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 11:17 am (UTC)(link)
I know! I read a bit of it before dropping it ;3;
I liked Yamamoto/Gokudera ;3;

Yep, it's amusing XD
'Cause Italian is such an upopular language, it amuses me to no end XD

[identity profile] ceasefire.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 11:37 am (UTC)(link)
I like YamaGoku okay, but DinoHiba is my forever OTP.

Lol, I never really thought of it that way XD It gets taught at a lot of the schools here... though it could be because all the schools I went to were Catholic schools...

[identity profile] tomoe-daeva.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I stopped reading before Hibari's appearance ;3; But I really liked Dino already <3<3

Well, I can't see what utility can Italian have! I can see Spanish's, even Chinese's, but Italian-- It's not even used for cooking, and that's probably the best thing that we can do XD So I'm always amused when I see people using it ;3; (also if kinda awkwardly XD)

[identity profile] ceasefire.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 01:28 pm (UTC)(link)
... whut XD Hibari appeared in Ch. 16 and Dino appeared in Ch. 27.

Well, there's a decent amount of Italian migrants here? But there's a decent amount of a lot of nationalities here, orz.

[identity profile] tomoe-daeva.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 01:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Then I didn't pay attention to him XD
Or maybe he just appeared in a pair of panels or such XD ?

I see XD Well, there are lots of migrants here too (POOR PEOPLE, LOL), but we don't teach Romanian or Chinese in our schools ;3;
Anyway, it's very cool XD

[identity profile] ceasefire.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 01:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope, he was a pretty big character. Or he was to me, lol.

According to our census, 1/5 of us were born overseas and 50% of us had one or both parents born overseas. A lot of schools here teach Chinese, Indonesian and Japanese more than European languages though.

[identity profile] tomoe-daeva.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 02:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I can see that :D
Also if it doesn't make much sense-- Since they're living in your country now, aren't they supposed to learn your language to make their life there easier and to contribute to the community..?

[identity profile] ceasefire.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 02:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure, most of them do. But what's wrong with learning their languages in return? Especially Asian languages. Coz of where Australia is, there's always a high demand for interpreters and translators that can speak or write both English and Chinese/Korean/Japanese etc.

[identity profile] tomoe-daeva.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 02:16 pm (UTC)(link)
In return of what XD ?
But sure, Oriental languages sure are useful since the economic boom in Asia, expecially China...

[identity profile] ceasefire.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 02:20 pm (UTC)(link)
/shrug
I just think it's nice to broaden your horizons. Other cultures and languages help you do that. They contribute to our economy because if they didn't they'd probably be out on their asses, so it's not like we can complain about them simply being here. Australia's always been a big mash-up of different heritages.

[identity profile] tomoe-daeva.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, if I'm Italian, I go to Australia and I start to learn Italian there how is it supposed to broaden my horizons XD ..?

But that's just me, if it worked just fine 'til now I don't see any good reason to keep bothering you about it XD
As an European, we tend to be more self-centered and biased towards foreigners-- It's just that we had so many wars against each others, it's difficult to make us in a bunch of happy people ^_^;

[identity profile] ceasefire.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
... I really have no idea what point you're trying to make by saying that? You could say the same about every single other language. We teach a heap of languages here. >>; But if you spoke one language fluently and you wanted to learn another, logically you wouldn't chose the one you already know. Most high schools gives you a choice of two or three languages and in universities and adult education you just choose any one you want. The only difference is primary school.

[identity profile] tomoe-daeva.livejournal.com 2011-01-03 11:53 am (UTC)(link)
THAT WAS WHAT WASN'T CLEAR TO ME.
I THOUGHT THAT YOU TAUGHT THOSE FOREIGN LANGUAGES TO THE FOREIGN PEOPLE THEMSELVES.

[identity profile] ceasefire.livejournal.com 2011-01-03 11:55 am (UTC)(link)
No, we learn their languages. They mainly learn English (like their kids get help with English in school etc.)

IDK how you got the idea that we taught foreigners their own language? But I'm sorry if it came across like that.

[identity profile] tomoe-daeva.livejournal.com 2011-01-03 12:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I misinterpreted that "But what's wrong with learning their languages in return?" x'D I interprete it as "They come to our country contributing with work, so in return we won't let them lose their roots :D" which sounded kinda awesome but pretty useless at the practice, so I couldn't understand what was the point of it XD

Sorry ^_^;;;;;

[identity profile] liberty-witch.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
Baccano! is one of my favorite animes ever, I just love watching it. ^^ (I don't mind the lack of yaoi though, because I honestly never entertained the notion o_O' well, except Ladd/Graham.) He writes girls pretty well too. Maybe that's why I don't mind the het? (It bothers me more in DRRR!!, I think.)

[identity profile] tomoe-daeva.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 11:20 am (UTC)(link)
I don't care about the yaoi either, as long as the anime doesn't suggest me nice pairings-- But I do when they shove in random female characters to pair the pretty guys with XD Then, is this "I see you for the first time, get in love with you and then marry you!" thing necessary everytime XD --?

[identity profile] mamuchan.livejournal.com 2011-01-15 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
Late comment is late but Baccano! OMG. I was meant to watch it ages ago but somehow didn't manage until last year. And it was awesome! In so many ways. Totally surprised me. And naturally Fujiwara-san's Ladd was the best! (/*3*)/ But I couldn't help how much I loved Isaac and Miria, they were so amazing, really. Onosaka-san's voice acting is simply fantastic, whatever he does! <3

So I'm glad that you watched it, too. 'Cause it was definitely worth watching. (^w^)
