Try OVA Gundam Unicorn. They're great. And it's about UC too.
I like Gundam 00. Kouga Yun (who does Loveless) did the chara-design. Characters are great.
Seed is more for teenagers and it's a sort of remake of the original serie, with some of same situations.
Gundam Age is then too shouta for me, lol. I don't like chara-design either.
