Books Meme

I think that it's time for a good ol' meme :3
I grabbed this from queenseptienna over LJ, it was a meme about books, and since I'm kinda sensitive to the subject at the moment I thought of giving it a try.
Sorry in advance if I'll give you boring answers ;_;
① Which was the first book you ever read?
I'd like to say that the first book that I ever read was Little Women, but that was just the support of my first step into art (as in "scribbling all over its wonderfully old and delightfully smelly pages with a marker") as a baby.
I think that the first proper book that I read was for obvious educational purposes during Elementary School.
Cipì by Mario Lodi is the furthest my mind can go to.
Of course I don't remember anything about it, besides the title and that it dealt with animals, but I still remember the feelings I had while reading it, it's pleasant.
--Despite all the crappy grammar/stuff exercises that we were supposed to do over it >_>;
② Have you ever dreamt about a book you read? If yes, tell about it.
No, never.
It's impossible for me to dream of books. My dreams are all weird elaborations of what happens me in real life. Apparently I can't dream of things that I don't see in real life.
③ Which is the first thing that gain your attention in a book? The cover, the story or the title?The title :3 Only after a title intrigues me I proceed to inspect the back of the book to get any hint of the story.
---I was a bit disappointed to know that the first thing that editors check is the title; when I saw books changing the title of a book completely for the sake of adaptation I feel deeply offended as a reader.
I think that picking a good title is the first duty of a writer-- I have a bad artistic opinion of people who can't come with cool titles --But nowadays that's way simple-- In case of troubles, you can use some song's lyrics (as I do) ;D !
④ Have you ever cried over a character's death?
No, never, but there were times when the death of a character disappointed me.
The most recent is probably the one of Basil in The Portrait of Dorian Gray. I'm always bothered when fictional people who remind me of myself are killed off :/
⑤ Which is your favourite genre?
I usually read essays, not novels, probably it's because I grew to associate books with knowledge more than with mere entertainment, so it's a bit daring for me to talk about "genres".
Somehow reading novels bothers me a bit. Unless the author writes PERFECTLY, there's always something that bothers me in what other people's write: for example, a protagonist that I don't like, an event that I don't like, developments that I don't like and so on--
--BUT I'm DIGRESSING!!!
When I'm not reading essays, let's say that my favourite readings fall in the category of Adventure. Of course it's not the mere "Action" kind of adventure, I like adventures where the characters are developed by the events, not those who develop the events.
I find human nature charming, also if it tends to piss me off because of its utter stupidity.
⑥ Have you ever met a writer?
Yes, I did, mostly during conferences, every now and then during some classes at University. I don't think that I've ever managed to attend any book presentation.
--I wasn't so very impressed. It's just people talking, after all, isn't it?
⑦ Post a picture that represents what reading is for you.
