First of all I decided to resume that yuri project that I told you a while ago--!
Reading that book about Tamara de Lempicka that I told you about yesterday really refreshed my inspiration; I decided to buy another book to get more details about her private life and her relationship with Rafaela, it looks like the kind of passionate, utilitaristic, distracting and bittersweet stuff that I like... Let's see if I can get something interesting out of it!
...Speaking of The Queen of Modern, I'm a bit bothered by the fact that there's lots of FRENCH QUOTES WITHOUT TRANSLATIONS.
I'm quite pissed at this kind of fake "intellectualism" that concerns art. I wanna UNDERSTAND what's written on this damn book, not feeling raffiné just because I'm reading stuff written in French!
...Mmmh... Should I give up and buy The Last Nude too ;_; ..? But I don't want Avery's vision to "stain" mine T_T;; !!

Then, I bought new mangas: the long waited first (HUGE) volume of Kagemaru Den, or what in Japan is called "Ninja Bugeicho Kagemaruden" (忍者武芸帳影丸伝), and the first volume of the new series of Cestvs, or what in Japan is called "Kendou Shitouden Cestvs" (拳奴死闘伝セスタス)...

ASASADFSDFSDGGH!!! YOU HAVE NO IDEA OF HOW HAPPY I AM TO READ KAGEMARU DEN AT LAST!!!
I started to fantasize about this series when I first watched the "animated movie" rendition of Oshima (with terrible subtitles), so you have no idea of my JOY to read the whole thing, in a language that I can understand and in a proper translation ;o; !!!
It's simply EPIC.
Kagemaru, this "dark hero" who doesn't hesitate to betray everyone for a "better end", pursuing his idea of social justice, charms and disgusts me at the same time!!!
I loved the story's construction and the narration, how everything is so well-rounded and tricky and the wonderful plot-twists!
I also managed to like Shirato's rendition of Nobunaga!! I was expecting a merciless dictator, but his portrayal shows a witty, smartass bastard instead!
I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT VOLUMES ;O; !!! LORD KNOWS WHEN THEY'LL BE RELEASED ;o; --!!!

The only thing that I didn't like was the printing quality of the pages-- That was quite bad: it looked as if the pages were roughly "enlarged" to fit the format, thus destroying the original "trait" of the author-- UGH.
I was amused to see that Shirato didn't use screentones here, but "shadowed" his comic with diluted ink or pencil. COOL!!!
Ahah, I can tell that the guys at PaniniComics were looking forward to the end of the first series of Cestvs so to have an excuse to "fix" everything about their initial editorial choices XD

We were finally granted original right-to-left reading pages and the booklet is enriched by the use of a "dust jacket"...
Speaking of the manga, I find that the narration skills of Wazarai somehow got a bit duller-- I mean, seeing Cestus to have the same exact troubles about his self-confidence everytime is getting a bit boring XD
Thumbs up for Cestus more "adult look", though! ME LIKES :D° --!

--And I bought the new fabric for my next Romics cosplay :DDD
The white one is for my Kuranosuke's costume-- I wanna remake it because the fabric that I picked that time sucked a big one-- This one is much cuter and sturdier <3 !
--And that's all for now, now I'm off to dinner!
