--I wanted to post about this yesterday after I watched, but it took so long that I just went to sleep before I had the chance to watch the whole thing ^_^;
I must say that I really liked it! When it comes to music, England is probably the best place in the world, I screamed a bit when I heard Adele and Muse's songs, and well, from Beatles to Sex Pistols passing through Annie Lennox-- They could show off their musical heritage quite easily.

But of course, the most interesting bit of the Opening Ceremony is and will always be the parade of the Olympic delegations :D
I was impressed by how many cheers Australia, USA and Jamaica got XD
--And some people from African and Middle East countries, well-- They looked kinda scary.
I'm grateful that everyone can enjoy the Olympics as a moment to celebrate peace-- It's be cool if what happened during ancient times in Greece could apply to the modern world ._.
I was wondering what the delegations of Sirya, Congo or Angola were thinking while marching there... I was glad to see joyful expressions on the rappresentatives that managed to get there, though, besides all the troubles of their nations...

Now, on a more light-hearted side, let me share my thoughts on the delegations' uniforms..!

My favourite outfit was that of Barbados:
I'm not a fan of "spezzato" outfits, but I must say that I really liked the choices of colours here.
I find the male necktie particularly stunning in context∼

I also liked the USA uniforms!
I really loved the military vibe and the cut of the cap :D
Many uniforms were provided with caps-- I found the most of them horrifying.
I heard that there were complaints because, despite Ralph Lauren's prestigius signature, the clothes were made in China... LOL, I hope that they were not soaked in dioxin and asbestos, knowing the quality of Chinese artifacts (thinking that back in the days China was popular for the infinite quality of its products-- See porcelain and jade manifactures-- Thank you communism for destroying yet another culture)...

Of course I was quite focused on the uniform of Italy...
Looking at them light this, it's indeed a fancy outfit, unfortunately it didn't look very "catchy" in the whole context--
--Seriously, looking at it better, it's totally similar to the uniform that I wear at work ò_o;

But I'm totally in awe for the "actual" sport uniforms designed by Armani:
The beginning of Italy's National Anthem is inside the jackets and sportshirts ;o; !!

My favourite "ethnic" uniform is all for Cameroon:
How cool! Wonderful colors!!!

Other cool things were seen on Malaysia:
THEY INCORPORATED A TIGER MOTIF!!!
Ok, it looks kinda obscene for everyday's life, but I like it! I LIKE IT A LOT!!!

I was also impressed by the design prowness of the outfit wore by the Chile's standard bearer:
It's very cool :D

But the WINNER was probably Fiji:
I-I approved XD A muscley, oily, half-naked man is always the best thing to see late at night XD

Also, I noticed that lots of standard bearers came from judo :D I found it really cool! It was fun to note that Japan's was from wrestling instead, LOL.
I'm absolutely glad with Italy's choice of Valentina Vezzali; she's a wonderful person and athlete, I just can't get enough of her getting proper compensation for her Olympic feats ;_; ♥
Not like that neurotic little asshole Pellegrini, for istance =_=;
I mean, I'm glad to see her win, but it's the kind of person I dislike the most >_>

And so, the first competitions started already-- I look forward to all wrestling/fighting matches, gymnastic, fencing and this year also weightlifting! The Italian rapresentative is a 17 years old boy (the youngest in our team), I MUST NOT MISS IT LOL
As for the team sports, I look forward to volleyball :3
--But in the end I assume that I will follow only those competitions that I'll manage to watch when I'm not working ._.;

Pretty clothes aside, what do you think about the polemics about the choice to not respect the minute of silence for the Israeli victims of Munich '70 during the opening ceremony..?
Personally, I agree with the choice. I don't think that such a serious moment would have fitted the festive mood of the ceremony, also if a bit dedicated to "death and life" was included in the show.
I also read that a minute of silence WAS shared already in the athlets village on Monday, so what?
Israel should think that maybe such a thing could be awkward for the representative of other nations, Palestine above all >_>;
Let me be honest: I have a very low opinion of nations like Palestine and Iran (AND NORTH KOREA), but Israel whining about everything everytime is just out of place =_=; Olympics should be a place were people share what they have in common by fair competition, not about what makes us different from each others by who's wrong and who's right :/
Always giving for granted that what Palestine did back then was ABOMINABLE, and of course Israel's pain is perfectly understandable...

And that's all!
I look forward to your opinions!
