LUDICA ROMA 2013 Report :D

Yeeeh, I'm finally here with my report on Ludica XD
I never visited this event, but the guys of the Gundam Italian Club told me about it and their attendance there, so I decided to join the fun :D

For the sake of credit, some of the pictures that I used on this post came from the websites of both the Gundam Italian Club and Gundam Dipendente. Make sure to check them out, expecially for the pictures of gunpla and such ^_^ !
Well, as I told you, I mostly spent my time with the guys of the GIC.

Everyone was so nice T_T
Because of the event, I decided to attend in cosplay :D Here I am as Kycilia Zabi from the original TV series ^_^
--Unfortunately outside there was some storm raging ;_; so my wig got destroyed by the wind and the rain T_T; After I stayed all night up to style it T__T;
Anyway, one of the activities of the GIC stand was, obviously, gunpla-making!!

The whole thing was managed by the guys of
GundamDipendente... They provided materials, tools, kits --and of course their precious support :D
Here's Great Master aor_or_die customizing this model... The level of details was crazy >_>; !!

..Do you see those white bits? Those were added by hand, to give more originality and realism to the mecha.
Here's how the bust of this cutie looked after it was sprayed some primer.
The Master explained us that the primer is used to check the details so to find errors or things to fix before proceding with the painting.

--Of course this stuff was way too advanced for me, I didn't even know how assemble one in the first place x'DDD
The place was crowded with kids (well, it was mostly their dads, to tell the truth XD)-- Here you have my fellow ganota Genocid assisting this boy.
--It was a real WTF situation, 'cause later (like, THREE HOURS LATER x'DD) we got to know that the kid came on his own, and his parents were looking for him since for ever all around the place x'DD LOL!
We came with the motto "Russians eat babies, but it's the GIC that kidnaps them!" x'DD

Of course since a kid doing it was a reassuring view, here I went with my first try at gunpla!!
After discussing it with the experts, I decided to go with a custom Clinche from Gundam AGE-3. I loved the series, I liked the character who piloted it and it looked simple enough, so it was a reasonable choice.

Look at me getting used to the tools of professional modelism x'D

(Fortunately you can't hear me cursing at every little thing x'DD)
--And here is the result of my efforts!

This is a close-up of the gunpla's bust and head!
Unfortunately I had to stop here, 'cause I didn't have my glasses and after over 4 hours of no-stop gunpla-making I was crying blood XD

I realized that I skipped lunch because of gunpla.
A friend told me that making gunpla can become some kind of "zen" activity, where you forget about everything and all your material needs--

--Here's the proof x'D
"CAN'T-- STOP-- SCULPTING--!!"
Other activities involved table games... Here was the most scenographic (some kind of WarHammer with gunpla miniatures), but there was also some Gundam Monopoly and such!

There was also a section dedicated to the fanzine of the club :3

And of course the section dedicated to cosplay :D
My friend Marco brought the helmets of his cosplays for exhibition purposes-- Of course everyone got crazy about wearing them ^_^;

Then, after a while we decided to take a walk around to check the other pavilions of the convention.
The most popular stand was probably the one of the LEGO guys.
One of their attractions was the LEGO version of the Seven Kingdoms from The Game of Thrones XD
Here are pictures of the whole thing:

A classy touch was Tyrion pissing down the Wall x'D

Also, you can spot in in the previous pictures-- They also managed to make a mosaic of Trevi's Fountain with LEGO o_o

This is a pic from close-by to show you the bricks ;_; !!
Besides games and models, there was some reenactment too :3
Here was the pavilion dedicated to these activities!

Besides the usual guys from Star Wars and random zombies, you could spot garibaldini soldiers ♥ ...

...Nazis...

...Americans...

...Gladiators...

...AND FURRIES, too :D !

We also spotted other custom Gundams around :D

--There was also some stand selling vintage stuff! AAAAH, how nostalgic!!
It felt like walking in Mandarake x'D --I guess that it was bothering for the owners to have all these otaku going around and treat their stands as a museum more than a shop x'DD

Oh, well, and that's all :D
It's been an extremely fun day and I was really happy to have met all the people that I just knew online 'til then ^_^ I'll make sure to attend this convention again next year, now that I know about it ^o^ !
