Romics 2010 report!

Ok guys, today I attended Romics 2010, an anime convention here in Rome :3

As I told you, I attended it mostly to see Riyoko Ikeda, a special guest and the protagonist of a long interview/tribute to celebrate the deluxe DVD re-edition of her most celebrated series Versailles no Bara∼
I went there with a co-worker and her friend --That obviously arrived ON LATE, making me miss some kickass musical dedicated to Mademoiselle Oscar ;_; BUUUUH! But I promised them that I wouldn't complain about it on my journal, so I'll stop for now XD --THANK YOU GUYS FOR KEEPING UP WITH MY OTAKU MOMENTS!

Since it was saturday, the place was crowded like hell :/

There was the same amount of stands, but for this edition I saw lots of food stands! Beside the classic places selling instant ramen, there were absolutely WTF thinglets, like this Sicilian stand selling typical pastries-- LOL, they were dressed like old-style mafia guys XD
(the pastries in the picture are the notorious "cannoli" ^^)

This year there was also a stand mantained by the Embassy of Japan in Italy.
They organized tiny events during the days of the convention. Among anime discussions, trips to Japan promotion and mini Japanese lessons, today there was this special "Kawaii Nails" moment. Practically, this woman practiced special manicure offering all kind of aesthetical treats to your nails.
As a special tribute to Mademoiselle Oscar, there was a set of fake nails decorated with tiny pink bows and jewels (you can spot it on the table, middle bottom of it). JUST CRAZY!
Now, to the main event, the tribute to Riyoko Ikeda.
The whole thing was more than two hours long and included an interview with Ikeda and some kind of talk-show with some special guests (and historian, a period costume-maker and an expert of cold steel fighting).
It's been awesome! Ikeda-sensei was very nice and replied to the questions (even the most stupid >_>) very kindly and nicely... Too bad there wasn't any autograph session ;_; I wanted a sketch of Mariko from Oniisama e... ;_;

Ikeda-sensei getting interviewed.
The guy on the left was the translator, the woman on the right one of the organizers of the event.
Ikeda-sensei talked about lots of things! The creation of the manga, her studies, her passion for Marie Antoinette, her diffiult times as a shojo mangaka and her family. It was really interesting!

The main interpreters (don't know who the guy who looks like a pirate is... Maybe Andrè?) of the musical posing during the giving of a special tribute to Ikeda-sensei by her fans.
My co-worker told me that she managed to watch the musical once and it was all kind of awesome. --And I couldn't watch it today! FOR FREE! BUUUUUUUH ;___;

This woman above is the singer of the first Italian OP of Versailles no Bara (well, among others).
She started to sing it and everyone went crazy and sang along XD Me too! LOL, we were an audience of old people, to know the lyrics XD
In case you wanna hear the song too, here's the whole thing on YouTube :3

In the convention there was a special stand dedicated to Oscar, as some kind of tiny museum--- I was impressed by these "phone book-sized" manga volumes >3>
Fufu! There's also the Takarazuka promotion XD
And now, some space for the cosplay :D

Not really a cosplay but-- Just Dae posing next to Sailor Moon XD The series is finally going to be released in actual manga volumes ('til now we just got it released on tiny Americal-like issues format) ;_; ...In the second pic, Nana and Hikaru from Time Bokan Series: Time Patrol Tai Otasukeman ;o; !!!! (LOL, just how old I am x'D)

Nobunaga and Azai from Sengoku Basara ;3;
I--I FAPPED. I seriously wanted to glomp the Nobunaga guy ;_;

I don't know who he was but he was freakin' SCARY o_o

The oldest cosplayer ever and a cute Grell :D

Alois and Sebastian ;3;

Kuroshitsuji again, LOL XD
From the right: Grell, Sailor Moon (LOL), Ciel and Madame Red :3
Of course there were lots of other awesome costumes and characters-- But I was too lazy to ask everyone or just run after them >3>
And to end this post--MY BUYINGS!

Ok, I didn't buy much. I'm sick of getting more and more Rei's figures, since they're really a bother to clean and keep in shape but-- I GAVE UP AND BUY ANOTHER.
Then, All Rounder Meguru has been licensed in Italy! YAY ;o; !!! I grabbed the first volume! Second volume is going to be released at the end of the month! I really hope that volume 3 will be released soon too ^o^ !!!
In the end, some pins: Southern Italy (Hetalia), "I Love YAOI" and Sebas-chan x3
And that's all ^_^ I hope you enjoyed the report!
