Hi guys, how are you doin' ;3; ?

Your Dae is pretty fine despite the lack of updates; and no, 'm not extra busy with commissions despite the entity of my to-do list: my actual commissioners are pretty slow in checking the stuff and approving them, so, well, I'm not really going to complain for this, I'm just a little bothered that the other people inline have to wait.

Anyway, I'm here today to share with you my UTTER JOY for getting my Ninja Kamui DVD box <3

I must say, the Italian edition is pretty lame, as usual, but at least I can watch my beloved whever I feel like too <3 And there's the original audio available, so I can finally get all those mistaken names of places and people by the miserable 80s TV adaptation >3>

There are no many contents, just the trailer from the series.
The menu is pretty, though, with some hi-def Kamui's shots <3

All in all, I'm pretty happy with my purchase; here you go with a pretty shot of my favourite character, awesome Itsutsu from Nabari (and sorry kids, but I totally see Itsutsu/Kamui happening-- MAJOR FANWORKS IS COMING (° ∀ °))

Itsutsu and Dae say bye!

Speaking of mistaken names and miserable 80. TV series, that reminded me of all those old anime series that the Polish TV (most notably, Polonia 1) would buy from Italy. :D They were really cool and all, but the way they were aired... General Daimos had Japanese opening and Italian dubbing (various characters yelling "aiuto!" will haunt me till the end of my days XD), the guy that read Yattaman would also read the (hilarious and word-for-word) translation of the opening (which would then end abruptly in the middle of the song), but the most convoluted case of them all was Captain Tsubasa. The series itself was mostly in Japanese (except for a few episodes that had Italian dubbing), the title shown in the opening was "Holly e Benji", the lector would read "Kapitan Hawk" and the TV guides listed it as "Kapitan Jastrząb". XD Those were the days... *nostalgia overdose*

Oh my, I'm SO VERY VERY SORRY for the philological rape of anime perpetrated by my fellow countrymen ;_; !!!

It looked like having Japanese names in Japanese animes was some sort of confusing violence for kids.
So, names were converted in Italian (See Mamoru from SailorMoon turning "Marzio") or in weird English ("Jonny", "Geremy"... Seriously, they're spelled like that ;_;)... It looked like in 70s/80s we got an anime boom, like, the 90% of cartoons on TV were Japanese.
Then (in 90s, with Sailor Moon's boom) some stupid committe has been created, along with some censorship crap enforced by useless psychologists and parental associations, and editing and adaptations went happy: parts of animes being completely erased, cropped, edited in a savage way to "protect" kids.
Recently things are getting better: no more names changings and random cuts (but for sexy scenes. Sexy scenes are punctually edited and erased), mostly because they started to buy animes of major-selling mangas, so it would be pointless to change names of already known and popular characters...

AND THAT'S ALL D:

Oh, don't be sorry - those old Italian-ish anime are now a cult classic among Polish fans. :D Although some of us were pretty surprised to have learned, that all those series were actually Japanese. XD (BTW, would you happen to have any idea, why did Kazuya yell something like "Justin" each time he boarded Daimos?)

We were lucky enough and the names were mostly original. There were some exceptions, however - most notable example was Usagi Tsukino, who was called Bunny in both the TV series and the manga (not sure about the films, though). There were more naming issues in Dragon Ball - some were our own fault (like Son Goku becoming Songo) but some were the result of translating from French, such as Mr. Satan being Hercules or Piccolo turning into horrible Szatan Serduszko ("Satan Little Heart", direct translation of "Satan Petit Coeur"). Fortunately, those days are long gone. XD

As for the censorship, most of the missing stuff was removed before the series came to Poland, so it was not that bad. ^^

Ahah, I have no idea X'D

Maybe it was "Just in"? As to suggest that he was entering the robot? One should find the original Japanese!

(Ah, General Daimos was pretty awesome <3<3!)

Yeah, and next thing you're going to say is that he was entering the robot from behind. XD

I can't check the original Japanese, because YOU ITALIANS OVERDUBBED IT! XD However, this scene, around 1:22, would suggest that it was simply a code word that made the car jump into the robot. :) (BTW, almost everything in Polish TV is translated that way - full dubbing is usually reserved for kiddy stuff. ^^)

Hey if they pronounced it "Sas'ke" instead of "Sasooke" they're doing it right ^_^ That's the correct pronounciation: the "u" in Japanese is a mute letter.

You posted that fic? Where, I can't find it on y!G ò_o
